Kenya Revival – 2024-07/08

This is a special private safari for Marianne Kruse, Dr. Juergen Soltau, Cornelia von Hardenberg and Rudi Lutz.

21 days: Nairobi – Maasai Mara – Nakuru – Baringo/Bogoria – Ol Pejeta (Nanyuki) – Meru Park – Samburu – Amboseli – Nairobi

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi

Booking flight on your own responsibility and expenses. Pick up in the evening, transfer to hotel.


Day 2: Nairobi National Park, Orphanage – Maasai Mara

Early pick up in the morning, game drive in Nairobi National Park and visit of orphanage, including young lions, cheetahs and leopards. Then transfer to Maasai Mara.

Day 3-6: Four full days of game viewing drives in Maasai Mara

Spend the days in Masaai Mara with unlimited game viewing drives in the morning and afternoon or go on full-day game viewing drives with a picnic lunch in search of the big five, the great migration and a visit to the Mara River to see hippos and crocodiles. Experience Sundowners. Accomodation: Maasai Mara safari hotel or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Maasai Mara – Nakuru

Leave Maasai Mara and drive to Lake Nakuru salty water lake for a late lunch. After lunch embark on an afternoon game viewing drive with the prospect of seeing rhinos, flamingos and Rothshild giraffes until sunset, overnight stay in your Nakuru safari hotel or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Nakuru – Baringo

Depart after breakfast and drive further North to Lake Baringo, a freshwater lake that has its own share of bird life species like the White-faced Scopes owl, brimstone canary, bristol crowned starling, goliath heron, little weaver, jackson’s and,hemprich’s hornbill.

After a relaxed lunch we will descend down onto the cliffs to look for the white-faced scopes owl, black-throated barbet, and mouse collared tit before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your Baringo hotel.

Day 9: Baringo – Lake Bogoria – Baringo for bird watching

After breakfast: proceeding to Lake Bogoria, home to flamingos, with the possibility of spending more time in the afternoon at Lake Baringo.

Day 10: Baringo – Naivasha

Check out after breakfast and drive through a scenic journey past the equator and the sisal plantation to lake Naivasha, including boat trip on Lake Naivasha and possibility of a walk on Crescent Island, the scenery of the famous film “Out of Africa”. Also possible: visiting Elsamere, the home of Joy Adamson and her famous tame lion Elsa.

Day 11: Naivasha – Nanyuki

Check out after breakfast and drive towards Nanyuki, either by passing through Aberares Park or taking to road via Nyahuru before arriving at your hotel in Nanyuki.

Day 12: Nanyuki: Ol Pejeta Private Conservancy

After breakfast go for a full day game viewing drive at Ol Pejeta Park with the chance of seing the big cats, elephants, buffalos and rhinos. Also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary and the rhino sanctuary with the chance to see the two last surviving northern white rhinos.

Day 13: Nanyuki – Meru

After breakfast surround magical Mount Kenya and drive through the fertile area of Meru County. Arriving at your lodge or hotel you have the possibility of relaxing in the afternoon.

Day 14: Meru Park game viewing drive

After breakfast go for a full day game viewng drive at Meru National Park, which is said to be wild and beautiful. Straddling the equator and bisected by 13 rivers and numerous mountain fed streams. It is famous for its beautiful, scenery and ideal for fauna and flora. This was home to conservationists George and Joy Adamson with Elsa their semi-tame lioness and Pipa the cheetah that put the park on the map of the famous film “Born Free”.

Day 15: Meru – Samburu

After breakfast proceed to Samburu and do an afternoon game viewing drive at Buffalo Springs National Park.

Day 16-17: Samburu

Spend two days in the National Parks of Samburu, including a half-day trip the the unique Reteti sactuary and experience the feeding of young elephants and giraffes.

Day 18: Samburu – Tana River

After breakfast and a last game drive on our way out of the park proceed to Sagana Gateway Resort in the north of Nairobi for relaxing.

Day 19: Tana River – Amboseli

After breakfast we proceed to Amboseli. Due to time of arrival, a short evening game viewing drive might be possible.

Day 20: Amboseli

You will enjoy a full day of game viewing drive until sunset.

Day 21: Amboseli – Nairobi – depart

After an early morning game drive, you will drive back to Nairobi and enjoy your farewell dinner, e.g. at Matbronze Gallery, Karen. Get to the airport right in time for your overnight flight back to Frankfurt with an early arrival next morning.

Price per person: to be calculated after your feedback

Flights are not included in this offer, the booking is under your personal responsibility.

Proposal: We suggest to book direct flights Frankfurt-Nairobi already in August 2023 to reduce costs.

Paying conditions: We ask for a down payment of 60 % after booking due to high season conditions. 40 % are to be payed 8 weeks before the begining of your safari.

Prices are per person, sharing double bed rooms, to be payed in usd. – Supplement for single bedrooms : xxx usd

Expect a well inspected pop-up top jeep 4-wheel-drive for easy wildlife viewing.

Arrival time on safari is estimated and may change depending on traffic or road condition.

All meals, Park entrance fees, drinking water, game viewing drives, accommodation, driver-guide George Muriungi, director of GreatlinkSafaris, emergency flying doctors, rescue cover, pick up and drop off within Nairobi, Government taxes and all local levies.
