Nairobi – Lake Magadi – Lake Naivasha – Lake Baringo – Lake Nakuru – Ol-Pajeta – Samburu – Samburu – Narumoro – Nairobi

11 days 10 nights.

Day 1. Airport – Nairobi Hotel

On arrival, you will be met at the airport by our representative and transferred to a Nairobi hotel where you will spend your overnight.

Day 2. Nairobi tour and Museum.

We shall then head out for an orientation tour of the town before paying a visit to the National Museum bird’s gallery for a lecture on birds before dusk engulfs us for dinner and overnight at a Nairobi hotel.

Day 3. Nairobi – Lake Magadi 106 km 3 hours.

After breakfast, we leave Nairobi and then drive to the southern side of Kenya with a picnic Lunch and to Lake Magadi . The lake covers an area of 104 km sq the soda Lake is completely surrounded by vast natural salt flats.

These sweltering plains prevent any animals from reaching the alkaline lake at its center. For this reason, thousands of flamingos descend on the Lake each year to feed on the algae and crustacea at the lake’s shore safe from any potential predators such as Fish eagles.

Freshwater springs at the Lake’s shore attract a host of other birds like the chestnut banded plover, common sandpiper, common greenshank, and wood sandpiper to name a few. Later in the afternoon, we return to Nairobi arriving late evening. dinner and overnight stay will be in Nairobi.

Day 4. Nairobi – Lake Naivasha 100 km 2 hours.

After breakfast, we depart from our Nairobi hotel for a scenic drive through the great rift valley to Lake Naivasha for lunch . Brief stop at the viewpoint for the stunning views arriving at Lake Naivasha by midmorning for a bird walk before time for lunch at a Lake Naivasha hotel.

Lake Naivasha being a freshwater lake on the Rift floor is home to an incredible variety of species. Over 450 species have been recorded here. Afternoon will be spent on a boat tour around the lake until sunset returning for dinner and overnight at Naivasha hotel.

Day 5. Lake Naivasha – Lake Baringo 179 km 5 hours.

Depart after breakfast and drive further North to Lake Baringo, arriving in time for Lunch. Lake Baringo is a freshwater lake that has its own share of bird life species like the White-faced Scopes owl, brimstone canary, bristol crowned starling, goliath heron, little weaver, jackson’s and,hemprich’s hornbill.

After a relaxed lunch we will descend down onto the cliffs to look for the white-faced scopes owl, black-throated barbet, and mouse collared tit before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight at  Baringo hotel.

Day 6. Lake Baringo – Lake Nakuru 134 km 3 hours.

This morning we leave after breakfast and head for Lake Nakuru Park, regarded as the pink lake. The park is famous for its millions of pink flamingos, arriving by mid-morning for a game drive en-route before checking in a Nakuru hotel for Lunch.

Afternoon game drive followed by a walk along the shores which will also allow us to see many wild animals in the park. The park is a Sanctuary for the black rhino, white rhino, and the Rothschild giraffe.

Here we will have the chance to look out at some of the common species like the lesser and greater flamingos, African fish eagle, tawny eagle, green wood hoopoes, cliff chat, great white, and pink backed pelicans plus other African migrants birds dinner and overnight Lake Nakuru.

Day 7 . Lake Nakuru – Ol-Pajeta 152 km 5 hours.

Check out after breakfast and drive to Ol-Pajeta conservancy for lunch past tea and coffee plantations with a brief stop at Thomson falls which is seventy two meters deep. Afternoon game and birdwatching until sunset with a chance to see Chimpanzee and Rhinos until sunset and check in your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8. Ol-Pajeta – Samburu 135 km 3 hours.

Checkout after breakfast and drive to Samburu for lunch where nature difies itself we have special five animals here which are not found elsewhere grevy’s zebra, beisa Oryx, the long-necked antelope g erenuk and the Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bathe on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Birdlife in this reserve is not raging behind as it is profuse, and species such as Somali and white-throated bee-eaters, golden pipit, Vulturine guinea fowl, White-headed mousebird, buff crested bustards, black-capped social weaver, donaldson-Smith’s sparrow weavers, golden breasted starling among other dryland species. Afternoon game and bird viewing until sunset and check-in your Samburu safari hotel dinner and overnight.

Day 9. Samburu full day.

Spend the day with morning and afternoon game and bird watching until sunset and check in to your Samburu safari hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10. Samburu – Narumoro 137 km 3 hours.

After breakfast depart for Mount Kenya arriving for lunch at Narumoro river lodge.  The afternoon will be spent birding in this Montane forest region. Rare species likely to be seen include green ibis, lesser spotted eagle, harrier hawk, rufous sparrow hawk, ayre’s hawk eagle, black stork, red fronted parrots, common snipe, mountain buzzard, bronze napped pigeon, mountain white-eye, abbots starling, sharpe’s starling, mountain oriole and thick-billed seedeater, dinner and overnight Narumoro safari hotel.

Meal plan: breakfast and lunch.

Day 11. Narumoro – Nairobi 169 km 4 hours.

Early morning bird watching check out and drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Later farewell dinner in the evening will be hosted by our company at the world-famous Carnivore Restaurant considered as Africa’s greatest eating experience if you love barbecue it doesn’t get better than this and is home to the “Simba Saloon” one of the city’s most popular night clubs. Thereafter you will be transferred to the airport in time for your international departure flight.

All safaris are offered in a choice of luxury, standard or economy safari lodges or tented camps depending on your safari budget.

Tour prices are per person sharing in a private pop-up top jeep for easy wildlife viewing and the cost is in US dollars.

Arrival time on safari is estimated and may change depending on traffic or road conditions.
